The Presentation Ceremony of the “Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Kenneth Li Scholarship” was held successfully on Monday, 27 March 2023 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The ceremony was officiated by Mr Kenneth Li, Managing Director of Carlton City Hotel Singapore, Professor Rocky Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK as well as management delegation from The University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Dr. Hui Sin Kuen, Principal of Ning Po College , Mr. Tang King Chi, former Principal of Ning Po College, and Mr. Leung Chiu Yin, Principal of Ning Po No. 2 College also attended the ceremony.

In his welcoming address, Professor Tuan expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr Li Dak-sum and Mr Kenneth Li for their generosity in establishing the Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Kenneth Li Scholarship, as well as their contribution in promoting education and grooming the next generation of leaders for Hong Kong and the nation. Professor Tuan also encouraged all scholarship recipients not to forget the beneficence of Dr Li and Mr Li and they should devote themselves for the betterment of society in future.

In 2015, Dr Li made a magnificent donation of a total of HK$300 million to The University of Hong Kong (HKU), CUHK and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (UST) for the establishment of “Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Kenneth Li Scholarship”. The scholarship aims to award graduates from Ning Po College and Ning Po No. 2 College, with outstanding academic performance, good conduct and financial needs, to pursue tertiary education in HKU, CUHK and UST.
