CUHK Golf Day 2012

The 8th CUHK Golf Day was held on Friday, 9 November 2012. Over 100 alumni and friends of CUHK enjoyed a fun day in Vijay Course of Shenzhen Mission Hills Golf Club. This annual event successfully brought nearly 1.2 million dollars of donation to enhance the quality of education CUHK provides to the students.

Officiated at the Tee-off Ceremony were Professor Michael Hui, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Mr Stewart Cheng, Honorary Co-chairman of Organising Committee of CUHK Golf Day 2012, Mr David York, Chairman of Dragon Crowd Enterprise (China) Limited, Honorary Co-chairman of Organising Committee of CUHK Golf Day 2012, Dr Yeung Ming-biu, Chairman of Oriental Watch Company and Mrs Carol Tsang, Chairlady of Organising Committee of CUHK Golf Day 2012.

Before the 28 teams started their 18-hole tournament in the morning, Professor Hui extended a warm welcome to all participants and thanked the members of organising committee in making the Golf Day a success. He also congratulated CUHK Alumni Golf Association on winning the Champion of the 9th Intervarsity Alumni Golf Competitionn held earlier in October this year.

After a series of exciting and tight competitions on the golf course, Chung Chi College won the Championship of CU Cup while Okia was the winner of the CUHK Team Open - Best Net. The Best Gross Championship of Men’s and Women’s Individual went to Mr Xi Liang and Mrs Carol Tsang from Chung Chi College respectively.

Since 2005, CUHK Golf Day is one of the annual events organised by the Office of Institutional Advancement. All donations received will contribute to the CUHK Golf Day Scholarship of the University and its constituent Colleges to enrich the learning experience of our students.
