CUHK 50th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony ‧ Walkathon and Carnival

3 DEC 2012

The year 2013 marks the Golden Jubilee of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). There are a series of celebratory events to be held throughout the year. The CUHK 50th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony.Walkathon and Carnival will be held on Sunday, 27 January 2013. Staff, students, alumni and friends of the Chinese University are cordially invited to this event.

The Chinese University has a strong commitment to nurturing young people who are international in outlook, learned in the disciplines they follow, upright in character, and committed to serving the community. The University's I.CARE Programme was launched in September 2011 and is aimed at strengthening students' holistic development through social and civic engagements in Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas countries. In this Walkathon, all money raised will be used to support the I.CARE Programme.

The Chinese University has launched CU50.Care Campaign in which our staff, students and alumni pledged to carry out 50 community service projects throughout 2013. In this upcoming Walkathon, in addition to money, the Chinese University would like to appeal to participants to pledge hours of voluntary service to the community in 2013. This is the first ever Walkathon that raises service hours for our community besides being a meaningful fundraising exercise.

Come join us to witness the launching of the CUHK 50th Anniversary Celebrations, enjoy the Walkathon in our stunningly beautiful campus, and stay behind for an exciting and fun-filled carnival in the Lingnan Stadium with your family and loved ones.
