The Seventh Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Presentation Ceremony

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized the seventh “Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Presentation Ceremony” on Tuesday, 10 November 2020. Facing the unprecedented challenge brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was for its first time held online via Zoom. The ceremony was officiated by Mr Thomas Liang, Chief Executive of the Wei Lun Foundation, and Professor Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of CUHK. Miss Michelle Liang and members of the advisory committee for the Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Endowment Fund also joined this gratifying moment.

In his welcoming address, Professor Fok Tai-fai expressed his earnest gratitude on behalf of CUHK for the unfailing support of the late Dr the Honourable Lee Quo-wei, as well as the Lee Family and the Wei Lun Foundation. He also praised and encouraged all awardees to cherish the honour and follow Dr Lee’s legacy to make the community a better place in future.

A total of 33 outstanding students have been awarded the “Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship” this year. On behalf of all scholarship recipients, Cheung Man-hin thanked the Lee family and the Wei Lun Foundation for their generous donation to establish the Scholarship which fuels their motivation to continue the endeavour beyond fields of study.

Celebrating the Golden Jubilee of CUHK in 2013, the “Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Endowment Fund” was established to award medical students, law students and Mainland students with excellent academic achievement, and also support the students with financial needs for the exchange programmes.
