Participated by over 100 alumni of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the Alumni Mid-Autumn Festival Fundraising Garden Party was held on 23 September 2015 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge.

In his welcoming address, Professor Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, expressed his gratitude to our alumni for their enthusiastic support towards their alma mater. In the pursuit of reaching new heights of recognition and nurturing outstanding young leaders for the society, CUHK appreciates the generosity and wise counsel of our alumni. Professor Sung added that he is delighted to meet with alumni at different stages since their graduation from CUHK on this meaningful occasion. He also introduced the I.CARE Programme in his speech, and encouraged our alumni to render continued support to the programme which aims to develop all-rounded students.

In addition to Professor Sung and Mrs Sung, many senior administrative staff of the University attended the event. They include, Professor Michael Hui, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President; Professor Fok Tai Fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President; Mr Eric Ng, Registrar and Secretary; Professor Jimmy Yu, Head of United College; Professor Justin Wu, Associate Head of Shaw College; Ms Amy Tsui, Director of Communications and Public Relations; Ms Janet Chow, Director of Institutional Advancement; Mr Daniel Cheng, Director of Alumni Affairs; and Ms Connie Au, Honorary Consultant of the Office of Alumni Affairs. Our alumna Ms Akina Fong was the master of ceremony of the event.

Programmes of the Garden Party included a music performance by the Gu Zhang Team of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Staff Association, traditional folk arts booths, lantern riddles, charity sales of CUHK Mooncake and souvenirs, and making festive food with the Vice-Chancellor. All donations solicited through the event will be used to support the I.CARE Programme.
