CUHK Golf Day 2011

Thanks to the overwhelming support from alumni and friends of CUHK, the 7th CUHK Golf Day was held on 4 November 2011 in Vijay Course of Shenzhen Mission Hills Golf Club. Over 100 students, staff, alumni, college trustees and friends of CUHK joined hands in this meaningful event which helped to raise over 1 million HK dollars in support of CUHK's long term development.

Officiated at the Tee-off Ceremony were Professor Ching Pak-chung, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Mr Han Zhishan, General Manager of Mission Hills Golf Club, Mr Stewart Cheng, Representative of Cheng Yu Tung Foundation Ltd., Mr David York, Chairman of Chairman, Dragon Crowd Enterprise (China) Limited, Dr Yeung Ming-biu, Chairman of Oriental Watch, and Mr Aaron Yim, Chairman of Organising Committee of CUHK Golf Day 2011.

Professor Ching extended a warm welcome to all participants and thanked the members of organising committee in making the Golf Day a success, before the 27 teams started their 18-hole tournament in the morning. After a series of exciting competitions, New Asia College finally won Championship of CU Cup for three consecutive years while Ricoh (1) was the winner of the CUHK Team Open - Best Net. Mr Takayoshi Mizumori, a current student from United College, and Mrs Carol Tsang from Chung Chi College won the Best Gross Championship of Men’s and Women’s Individual respectively.

Since 2005, CUHK Golf Day is one of the annual events organised by the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA). All donations received will contribute to the CUHK Golf Day Scholarships and Bursaries Fund of the University and its constituent Colleges to enrich the learning experience of our students.
