14 OCT 2025
A total of 49 students were awarded the Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship across four categories this year, in recognition of their excellent academic performance.
A presentation ceremony was held on 14 October at the Cho Yiu Hall. Chief Executive of the Wei Lun Foundation Mr Thomas Liang Cheung-biu, Ms Michelle Liang, and CUHK’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Alumni/Community Engagement & Institutional Advancement) Professor Anthony Chan Tak-cheung officiated the ceremony.
In his welcoming address, Professor Chan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Wei Lun Foundation for its constant support to the University and its students. He noted the scholarship had, since its 2013 establishment, empowered over 650 CUHK students to pursue both academic and personal aspirations.
On behalf of all the awardees, Bernice Wong Hoi-yiu, a second-year law student, thanked the foundation in her speech. She said that the scholarship had enabled her to pursue her dreams beyond the classroom. Joining a service-learning trip organised by her affiliated college to Morrocco, she was able to interact with women rights advocacy groups, and gain a deeper understanding of the ideas about social justice.
The Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Endowment Fund awards medical students, law students and students from the Chinese Mainland with excellent academic achievements, and supports students with financial needs to participate in exchange programmes.
